In 2024 Bauman Moscow State Technical University together with BITS-Pilani University will organize the II International scientific conference "Space. Time. Civilization. STC-2024", to be held in three countries simultaneously: India, Egypt and Russia from November 2nd to 7th, 2024.

July 1st marked the day when the Faculty of Fundamental Sciences (FN) hosted the opening of the 5th "Gravitation, Cosmology and Astrophysics: ISGCA-2024" International Youth Scientific School in the Educational and Laboratory Building of BMSTU. The School is jointly organized by the FN Faculty, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Gravitational Society, having taken place annually since 2019. ISGCA-2024 is dedicated to the memory of Alexei Aleksandrovich Starobinsky, President of the Russian Gravitational Society, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the School (2021-2023).

In order to encourage research in mathematics, the Bauman Moscow State Technical University held its annual competition for the best papers in mathematics among those published in 2023 by the BMSTU staff.

After much deliberation, the winners and top rankings for the papers in mathematics were determined as follows:

1st place for the best scientific publication in mathematics in 2023

Zarubin Vladimir Stepanovich, Professor, FN-2 Department

Novozhilova Olga Valerievna, Associate Professor, FN-2 Department

for the paper "Two-sided estimate of effective thermal conductivity coefficients of a textured composite with anisotropic ellipsoidal inclusions", published in "Zeitschrift für angewandte Mathematik und Physik" (Q1, Scopus).

The remaining top rankings in the 2023 competition for the best scientific publication in mathematics include:

2nd place

Kanatnikov Anatoly Nikolaevich, Professor, FN-12 Department

for the paper "Cancer cell eradication in a 6D metastatic tumor model with time delay" in "Communications in Nonlinear Science and Numerical Simulation" (Q1, Scopus).

3rd place

Rudakov Igor Alekseevich, Professor, FN-2 Department

for the paper "Infinitely many periodic solutions for the quasi-linear Euler-Bernoulli beam equation with fixed ends" in "Calculus of Variations and Partial Differential Equations" (Q1, Scopus).

International Conference "Mathematical Modeling, Computational Methods and Engineering Software"

December 11th-12th, 2023

BMSTU, Moscow, Russia

Modern science and industry cannot advance without continual refinement of mathematical modeling techniques and development of engineering software. Powerful software packages, designed to run on a range of hardware including supercomputers and developed by commercial companies, universities and independent researchers, have found widespread application in engineering analysis of structures, processes and systems, which facilitated a novel paradigm of engineering design based on detailed 3D modeling of physical processes underlying the functioning of engineering structures in operation. In turn, this transition further increased interest in developing mathematical models describing materials, structures, processes and systems using the fundamental laws of mechanics, physics and chemistry in general formulations, without introducing any substantial approximations formerly dictated by the limitations of older numerical methods and computational resources.

The MCE-2023 international conference is meant to promote discussion of the matters outlined above, supplemented by numerous other issues concerning existing trends in the advancement of mathematical modeling and numerical methods as well as in the development and application of engineering software, including supercomputer-driven simulation.

International scientific conference

"Fundamental and Applied Problems of Mechanics (FAPM-2023)",

December 5th-8th, 2023, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow, Russia

The conference program includes reports on the following topics:

•       Mathematical modeling of mechanical systems, stability, oscillations; guidance, navigation and control

•       Theoretical Mechanics Celestial Mechanics

•       Applied Mechanics

•       Aero- and hydromechanics

•       Scientific, methodological and historical matters in mechanics (a collaborative section with members of the Presidium of the Scientific and Methodological Council on Theoretical Mechanics under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation)

The conference proceedings to be published will be indexed by the RSCI and referenced in the "Scientific Conferences" addendum of the "Engineering Journal: Science and Innovation" Electronic Science And Engineering Publication.

The Organizing Committee will be happy to answer any questions concerning the conference by e-mail: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
