July 5 - 8, 2021, Bauman Moscow State Technical University hosted the XXII International Conference on Modern Problems of the Theory of Relativity, Cosmology, and Astrophysics "Physical Interpretations of the Relativity Theory PIRT-2021".
The PIRT Conference is an international scientific event that started in 1988 and was initially held at Imperial College London once every two years, and since 2003 has been held at Bauman University in Moscow.
The chairman of the International Organizing Committee is the rector of Bauman University, Professor Anatoly Alexandrov. The Chairman of the International Academic Committee is RAS Academician Vladislav Pustovoit.
The working languages of the XXII Conference were Russian and English; all reports were simultaneously interpreted. The abstracts of all reports were previously given in the electronic form. Full papers will be published in the Journal of Physics: Conference Series.
The XXII International Conference "PIRT-2021" aimed at discussing modern generalizations of the theory of relativity, its observable consequences; experimental verification of the theory of relativity; methods of registration of gravitational waves; effects of relativistic electrodynamics and optics of moving media; as well as astrophysical observations and space experiments.
The PIRT-2021 program was dedicated to the latest advances in the theory of gravity, cosmology, astrophysics; more than 120 researchers from 21 countries took part in the conference.
The conference welcomed well-known scientists, such as the President of the Russian Gravitational Society, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the world-renowned scientist in the field of cosmology and gravity Alexey Alexandrovich Starobinsky; a Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Head of the Department of Physics Andrey Morozov; an American mathematician, topologist and professor of Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science at the University of Illinois in Chicago Louis Kauffman, the co-chairman of the International Organizing Committee - Professor of the University of Liverpool Peter Rowlands; Professor of Electromagnetism at the University of Naples Federico II, Member of the Optical Society of America Innocenzo M. Pinto and others.
Simultaneously with the conference, the work of the international summer school "International School of Gravity, Cosmology and Astrophysics ISGCA-2021" was organized. The school's main goals were: discussion of modern achievements in the study of the Universe and acquaintance with the basic ideas and methods of research in the theory of gravity and cosmology. More than 13 students took part in the School, including students from India. Well-known scientists from 6 countries delivered lectures at ISGCA-2021, such as Professor Mishra from India, Professor Romero from Brazil, Professor Trell from Sweden, and others.
The organizers and participants hope that the conference and the summer school will contribute to raising the level of education, developing and strengthening international scientific ties.
